Billie Faye (Stokes) Cody

Billie Faye Cody, 83, of Shallowater went home to be with our Lord on May 12, 2019.

She was born on September 7, 1935 in Lookeba, Oklahoma to Sherman and Alma Gossett. She married the love of her life, Royce Glenn Cody, in 1952 and they shared 66 wondrous years of marriage together. They were a military family and over the course of a 22 year career resided in five different states. She worked as a nurse for many of those years. Helping and caring for others was truly a passion of hers and her profession and her family demonstrated that.

She had an unconditional love and extraordinary pride for her family and this was apparent even in her final moments on this earth. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed treating anyone who entered her home with homemade fare. She was also a talented artisan and her imagination brought to life on canvas will be a treasured keepsake for many. She will forever be remembered as our matriarch and a hardworking, noble, benevolent, fierce woman of God.

She is survived by her husband, Royce, 3 sons and daughters-in-law, 11 grand children and 27 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, one daughter-in-law and one son. We know they are rejoicing together again in Heaven.

Services to honor this miraculous woman will be Saturday May 18, 2019 at 10 am at Kings Ridge Church of Christ located at 4201 98th Street in Lubbock. In lieu of meals, donations are requested be made to the Tipton Children’s Home at 1000 N Broadway Ave. Tipton, Oklahoma 73570, where Royce and Billie’s story began.
