Royce Glenn Cody, 84, of Shallowater went home to be with our Lord and Savior on
October 29, 2019.
He was born on October 14, 1935 in Brownfield, Texas to William and Janie Cody.
He married the love of his life, Billie Faye Stokes, in 1952 and they shared 66
wonderful years of marriage together. He had a respectful military career that
spanned 22 years and as a military family, they resided in five different states. He
held a number of positions throughout that career which speaks to his personality
in that he could and would do anything for anyone, most of all, his family.
He had such an unconditional love and immense pride for his family, especially his
grandchildren, and gave them anything they ever wanted always justifying the
action by stating proudly, “That’s what Grandpas are for!”. He was quick mouthed
with a witty comment or joke and kept all who knew him laughing. He went out of
his way to even strangers and extended his blessings by showing the love of Christ
to others. With an extensive knowledge of war planes, one of his favorite past times
was sharing that with grandchildren and great grandchildren by both print and live
encounters at Reese Air Force base. These memories will be forever cherished. He
will always be our patriarch and remembered as a caring, jocular, invigorated, wise,
disciplined, solid citizen of Christ.
He is survived by three sons, Bruce, Lloyd and Mitch Cody, three daughters-in-law,
11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents, three siblings, his precious wife, one daughter-in-law and one son. We
know that the reunion they have had in Heaven is absolutely joyous!
