Bethel Akins

Our beloved Bethel “Nanny” LaVaugh Copeland Akins passed from this world on January 21, 2020. She was born on February 8, 1924 in Wynnewood, OK to Arthur D Copeland and Lila M Tyler Copeland.

Beth was preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents-in-law Curtis and Zola Akins, her parents Arthur and Lila Copeland, her daughter and grandson Sharon Akins and Rodney Walter Lewis, and great-grandson William David Bennett.

Those left to celebrate her life include her son and daughter-in law Ronnie and Wanda Akins, daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Roy Walters, and nine grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Cassandra Akins, Shon and Sarah Akins, Becky and James Hamilton, Dustin and Marla Akins, Shani Robertson, Christopher Walters, Kimberly Walters, Nathan and Danielle Walters, and K’dy and Manny Rojas. Additionally, Beth left behind twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Ruth Owen, brother-in-law Wendell Akins, and brother and sister-in-laws Winford and Judy Akins, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral will be held at Peaceful Gardens on February 8, 2020 at 2pm.
