Charles "Bubba" Kageler, 64, of Lubbock, died October 22, 2021 at Covenant Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on December 11, 1956 in Lufkin to Les and Shirlee Evans Kageler. He was a noteworthy basketball player in high school and graduated from Walnut Springs High School in 1976.
He married his wife of 44 years, Elaine, in 1977 and they moved to Lubbock where they started their family and he began a career in concrete construction that lasted until his retirement. Bubba and Elaine had one son, Les, who preceded Bubba in death in 2014. Bubba loved listening to music, especially to his grandson, Kaleb, playing the guitar, fishing, camping, outdoor cooking, card games, travelling and without a doubt, his sidekick Schnauzer, Heidi.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Elaine, grandson Kaleb, sisters Charlene Coffman (Stony), Kim Knowles (Jerry), Karmen Holt and his brother David Mayer (Laura) as well as numerous other family and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
