Jami Elizabeth Hobgood passed peacefully on July 20, 2023, after a long illness. She finally went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jami was a vibrant person throughout all her lifetime of illness. She stayed strong and fought hard not to let her limitation stop her from doing anything. Jami gave others hope and always listened to anyone. Jami never let her own battles interfere with uplifting people that walked into her life.
Jami deeply cared for children, animals and she enjoyed country music. She loved frogs and the color pink. She had her aunt bring her Sugar Skulls back to her whenever she would go out of town, especially from New Mexico. When she was doing her dialysis, she would search the internet and Facebook. Her favorite thing that she carried throughout her life was playing in the dirt in front of her house. She would sit in the dirt for hours and run her hands through the dirt.
Jami’s constant companion was her mom, Amanda. They faced the good times and the hard times hour by hour. Her mom was her best friend. You rarely would see Jami without Amanda.
Jami was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Inez Clark, her Poppy and Meme, Nick and Cleta Winfrey, great-uncles; Wayne, Wendel, and Joe Frank Clark, and Denzel Buchanan whom she called Dad. Jami is survived by her mother, Amanda Hobgood, brother Kolton Henderson, brother Dustin Coats and family, granddaddy Donald Hobgood, aunt Debbie Hobgood, aunt Donna Hobgood, great-aunt Sammie Simpson, cousin Jennifer Klotzman and family, cousin Zach Ysasi and J, cousin Britney Ysasi and son Rocco, and many belated close, loved friends and family.
The family wants to give a special thanks to her dialysis nurse Glenda who helped Jami throughout the last couple of years of her life while doing dialysis at home.
Jami was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!!
A graveside service will be held at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Woodrow, Tx. on Friday August 4th at 11 am.
