Jerry Houchin Obituary

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10:00 am, at Agape Funeral Home.  The remembrance/visitation will be Thursday, 5-7.  

Jerry was a longtime resident of Lubbock.  He was a huge supporter of anything Texas Tech.  He loved the Red Raiders, Chiefs, Cowboys and Mavericks.  Jerry loved to dance, and spent many hours boot scooting in and around Lubbock.   His favorite vacation was any Casino.  

Jerry was dedicated to his family, and would go to the ends of the “EARTH” to help.  Jerry was a veteran recognized for his sacrifices and achievements being awarded the 2015 Texas South Plains Honor Flight to Washington D.C.  Jerry spent over 40 years selling vehicles in the South Plains area. He was a car enthusiast loving the ‘50 & ‘60 models. 

Jerry is survived by his brothers; Sam Houchin and Terry Houchin (Lori); Celeste Wofford Family; dear friend Margie Rhoades; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Jo Houchin, brother: Don Houchin; sisters: Connie Johnson, Allie Houchin North, and Truma Houchin.  

Jerry will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, intelligence, work ethic, and his love for family and friends.
