Melissa Louise Boyd Wachholtz of Lubbock moved on to a better place on May 27, 2021 after battling cancer; she was surrounded by her family. Melissa was born on June 8, 1971 to Richard Charles Boyd and Barbara Anne Strosnider Boyd who are both waiting for her at the pearly gates. Melissa has three beautiful daughters, Krystauna Marie Miller, Kailey Renee Miller, Dannielle JoAnn Miller-Gomez and wife Abigail Gomez and her son Darryn Michael.

Melissa has led a full life with her three girls and her grandson, her years of involvement in the soccer association, Kairos, and earning her degree in accounting at LCU. Melissa was an influencer and was involved in the Kairos community where she mentored many amazing people with her magnetic personality. She has profoundly affected many lives with her love and wisdom, which will live on through all of those who she has touched.

Melissa leaves behind her siblings, nieces, nephews and many extended family members who will miss her contagious laughter and unpredictable humor. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday June 12, 2021. In lieu of flowers Melissa requested donations to Children's Home of Lubbock or Kairos Outside of Lubbock.
