Richard Johnston

Richard T. Johnston of Lubbock, Texas, died on June 5th, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born on February 9th, 1950 in Lubbock, TX to Annie Josephine Johnston and Robert Charles Johnston. He is survived by his son, Taylor Charles Johnston (wife, Rachel Hirshorn-Johnston), his three-month-old grandson, Aaron Joseph Johnston, as well as his brother, Robert Wayne Johnston, and sister, Vicki Jo Johnston. Richard was also loved by several nieces, nephews, and very close friends.
Richard will be remembered for his decades of dedication to the Lubbock Fire Department, achieving the rank of Captain in 1989. His love of baseball, golf, and astronomy will live on in our hearts forever. He will be very much missed.
Richard will be interred beside his former spouse, Vicki Mae Johnston (nee Barnes), of blessed memory.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Mausoleum at Lubbock Cemetery, June 19th, 2021, at 10am.
