After a long fight with COVID and secondary complications Robert N. Robertson, Sr., left this world to fly pain free into the afterlife on June 5, 2022, at the age of 70. He fought with a stubbornness even the most tenacious or bodacious bull could admire. His thirteen-month fight left him exhausted, his body was no longer able to keep up with his mind or his will.
Robert was a romantic at heart. Everyday showing his love for his family through his every deed. The simplest task was an act of love. He lives on in the hearts of all those who were privileged to know him. The ripple effect will carry his legacy on in future generations.
Robert was a fisherman in the oilfield, by profession. Often call the luckiest fisherman many a company man ever met. It was a profession he loved. Every job was a challenge; a puzzle to solve. He continued climbing the stairs of those West Texas oil rigs as long as he could.
Now he watches over us as we carry on his legacy joining those who proceeded him in death – his parents James and Georgie Robertson, his sister Barbara Ann Robertson, his brother Haskell Robertson, and his grandson Dru Robertson.
We will miss seeing his face, hearing his laughter, and feeling the comfort of his warm hugs. One day we will dance together again. You are so loved, my love.
He will be especially missed by his wife, Bonnita, his four youngest children, Daniel, Joshua, Liam, and Sophia; his four oldest children Robert, Will, Michelle, and Reggie; his siblings, Avis and Jesse, as well as his countless family and friends.
