Teresa Diane Contreras

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Teresa Diane
Contreras.Teresa was 32 years old and passed away on August 28, 2023, at her
home in Lubbock, TX.

Teresa earned a bachelor's degree in political science
from West Texas A&M University. Teresa was proud of her education and
was a true careerwoman; proud of what she did and made the greatest
effort to do all things with excellence.

Teresa enjoyed working with kids and substitute taught for LISD. Teresa felt great empathy for marginalized
people and had a deep interest in her heritage. Teresa served as a
volunteer coach for the Special Olympics participants. Teresa delighted in
politics and hoped to one day become a lawyer.

Teresa adored her nephew, Noah, her family, and many friends. Teresa held a close
relationship with her mother and sister. Teresa was particularly fond of her long-time friends, Eric
Hernandez, and Kelsey Clark. Teresa was a lover of animals and cherished her cat companion, Ru.

Teresa is survived by her mother, Elba Contreras, her sisters, Elizabeth Russell, and Marsha Hayes and her
cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

We will hold a celebration of life memorial for Teresa at Highland Baptist Church on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11 am for friends and family with a reception to follow.

We would greatly appreciate any donations made to Highland Baptist Church on
Teresa’s behalf as they have been so gracious in helping us without asking for anything in return.

We have great faith that Teresa has been committed to the loving arms of Christ and is resting peacefully in the love of the Lord God
Almighty. We raise our beloved daughter, sister, and friend in prayer until we meet again.
